Lists Help...

As long as they are not too long!

Last weekend my wife and I needed to get some things done around the house. My wife being the planner that she is made a list.
All of the things seemed easy enough to accomplish and we started our day in a positive mood, ready, willing and able to have a productive day.

It was a nice sunny day and we wanted to spend sometime outside the girls (our dogs) could run around and we would work on the garden. First mission was to expand the veggie garden.
We have been planting in Earth Boxes for the past few years and have been expanding the garden each year. Problem was this year we had more Earth boxes and Veggies than space in the garden.

Part one of this mission was to transplant the Azalea bush at the end of the garden so that we could expand the vegetable plot. That task I knew would take awhile so I literally dug right in after breakfast.

After two hours of digging around the root ball and digging a new hole that was big enough the Azalea was transplanted.
Next we needed to spread out the weed barrier cloth and spread out the plants and fill the boxes with water.
Now time to extend the fence. The garden needs to be fenced in to keep the girls from running through the plants, breaking them by rough housing and eating them especially the asparagus.
Now that this is all done. Since we are using the Earth boxes we have learned that the Tomatoes get too big so I have to reinforce all of the tomato stands. While Marika weeds the Asparagus, Lettuce and Herb.
Here are some pictures of our wonderful veggie garden. We really love the fresh produce in the summer and this is helping to decrease our ecological footprint.
Good picture of the fencing you can just make out the Azalea bush at the end of the row.
Here is another shot of almost the whole garden you can see the Azalea that was moved and all of the Earth boxes.
And finally here are some of the Monster Tomatoes The fence is 4 feet tall and this is only half way through the growing season.

And the moral of the story...
It is Now 6:00 we are tired the dogs are tired and we have not done the laundry, or cleared the debris from the front gardens or pruned the rose bushes. The girls need bathes and brushing.
Lists help! We did get something accomplished. We got a lot accomplished but not everything on the list…
Hope that you all learned a valuable lesson and happy list making. Till next time enjoy.

I am...

Three days ago now I had to bring both of our computers in for repairs. On the way in (to inevitably drop of both computers for a yet to be determined amount of time) I was thinking about all of the things that I wanted to do with the computers that were going to be missing from my life.
I weathered it pretty well.
But I had to share a revelation I while walking in to drop of the computer.
I am a
Messy haired, tie dye shirt and flip-flop wearing, backpack carrying, Mac user.
And I am happy!
There really isn't much more for me to say about that.
